LARA Terms and Conditions


Lara ISP subscribers have a right to:

A) Connect to the Internet, any time, for as long as they want.

B) Expect knowledgeable, prompt answers to questions about their account and/or technical support.

1. (a) Our Internet services must be used for legitimate purposes. Our subscribers must agree not to use the Internet for any unauthorized copying, duplicating, display or modification of any material or information that is protected by copyright or trademark.

1.(b) Subscribers must agree not to transmit any material in violation of any Federal, Provincial or local regulations including material that may be judged to be threatening, slanderous, racist, offensive, obscene, including elements of hate (material that is considered offensive or abusive to any community or ethnic group) or in conflict to any statutes or laws.

1.(c) Subscribers agree they will not mass-mail (broadcast) electronic mail (e-mail) or Usenet post with the intention of distributing unsolicited electronic mail or advertising to other users of the Internet.

2. Subscribers are given one dial-up connection at one time( unless they have multiple account ie, for business purposes.). If a subscriber uses more than one connection at the same time, their Internet access will be disconnected.

3.(a) Payment of Internet access is billed in advance of service rendered, with the previous month overtime( if any ) and/or extra space ( if any ) added to the bill. All accounts are due upon receipt of invoice. Invoices are emailed the second business day of every month. Accounts not paid in full by the first day of the following month will be charged a late payment fee based on 1.5% of the amount owed with a minimum charge of $2.00. All accounts not paid in full after 6 weeks will be disconnected. To be reconnected, all charges owing, plus a $10:00 reconnection fee must be paid. For NSF Cheque, there is a $25 service fee. Payment can be by Cash, Cheque, Money order, Interac, Master Card , Visa or American Express.

3.(b) When a new account is opened, payment of the Lara ISP administration fee and the balance owing for the Plan chosen must be paid.

3.(c) Requests for modification of access will only be accepted if they are written (either E-Mail [billing@lara.on.ca] or Canada Post). These requests must be received by LARA ISP at least 2 weeks before the last day of the month.

3.(d) CANCELLATIONS: Cancellations requests have to be received at least 2 weeks prior to the end of the current billing month. There is no cancellation charge except for Pre-paid accounts cancelled before the end of the pre-paid term. A service charge of $15 will apply. DSL and DSL basic accounts require a 30 day notice for cancellation requests. All cancellations must be in written notice (email, fax, letter).

4. LARA ISP is not liable to any subscribers for any loss of data, non-delivery or service interruptions caused by act of negligence, errors or omissions of the Company, subscribers or a third party. LARA ISP exercises no control of the content or quality of the information available through the Internet. Therefore LARA ISP will not be liable for an accuracy or reliability of the information, of any kind, obtained through the Internet.

5.(a) LARA ISP reserves all rights to increase the cost of the Internet access and other services to our subscribers, ie should there be any increase in cost of supplies to LARA ISP, including but not limited to an increase in the cost of telephone lines from Bell Canada.

5.(b) Should subscribers be unwilling to pay the increased rates, LARA ISP reserves the right to discontinue Internet access.

5.(c) LARA ISP reserves the rights to modify, change or add to the terms and conditions as need arises.

6. Subscriber's accounts may be cancelled at any time, without prior notice, or any reason attached, if in the opinion of LARA ISP management, the subscriber has violated any or all the terms and conditions stated by LARA ISP. In such event, LARA ISP is not liable to reimburse any payments or refunds to the subscriber. This is also includes any amounts prepaid to LARA ISP.
Subscribers confirm they have read and understood the terms and conditions of the use of the Internet and fully agree and accept the policies, terms and conditions of LARA ISP .
